My smile in that top photo pretty much sums up how excited I felt to be surrounded by caffeine last weekend. I hardly ever stop by Auckland for leisure but when I do, it’s for Ed Sheeran and of course, the New Zealand Coffee Festival!
The city harbour was bustling that Saturday morning; as soon as the event began at Shed 10, you’d witness crowds of urbanites swarming in for their dose of caffeine and grub whilst enjoying that bout of sunshine.
It was pure heaven for all coffee enthusiasts, with a huge line-up of vendors that were all in to brew your perfect cuppa. I wished I could try them all but after careful picking, I thoroughly enjoyed my brew from eighthirty and a good ol’ Harpoon Cold Brew Coffee!
(I also may or may not have been slightly tipsy after a Espresso Martini that we had that same morning.)
There’s also a huge variety of non-caffeinated beverages for the non-coffee drinkers that were a hit with both adults and children alike! And really, what is coffee without food? There were people manning food trucks and dessert tables waiting to serve hungry customers who kept returning in between their cups of coffee.
We spent a good three hours wandering around that day, eating and mostly getting our caffeine fix. I enjoyed checking out different booths that wasn’t necessarily coffee-related; there was a public barber service for those who fancied a shave there and then, and for my extreme love of ceramics and crockery, I was sorely tempted to purchase beautiful items made by Thea Ceramics.
Looking at all the fun I had that day, I might just make this a yearly affair!
