A Pitstop At Ruth Pretty, Te Horo.

Winter in New Zealand is slowly coming to an end and better weather means more chances to venture outdoors to enjoy some sunshine! Just like today, we took a spontaneous drive down to Wellington and along our journey, we couldn’t resist stopping at Ruth Pretty‘s for some coffee and cake.

Named after the owner herself, this quaint little cafe/kitchen shop can be found in Te Horo, just under an hour’s drive from Wellington city via State Highway 1. It is actually part of a 27-acre property that houses her established catering business.

It’s a perfect place for a coffee stop; I spent a good amount of time admiring all the trinkets that were up for sale and I couldn’t get over what a beautiful setting the greenhouse was for you to enjoy your cuppa. If you’re lucky, you might bump into none other than Ruth herself as she walks her dogs around the property.

We took a casual stroll around the premises before making our way to Wellington again. Aside from catering services, they are known for hosting events such as corporate functions, cooking classes and weddings, check out their website below!
