It’s about time to step out of my hiding hole and seek out those who could use a little reminder of what it feels like to have a dash of Crystal in their daily lives. Be it a simple hello, a funny joke followed by an even funnier expression, an exchange of life’s experiences and what caused my disappearance for awhile, ideas, conversations that last for hours and memories to take home for a lifetime.
Less planning, more doing –
Challenging myself to say yes without much thought; to grab that cup of coffee (and scone) on first offer, to book that flight ticket, to deviate completely from a rigidly structured plan, to strike conversations and make new acquaintances, all in hopes of accepting the fluidity and change that makes the constants of life.
Well, that’s enough said.
It comes in many forms and expressions.
In this context, it involves loving myself enough to feed my mind with knowledge and experience, to listen to the needs of my inner health and physical body, and to accept my limitations, mistakes and flaws with grace.
It involves embracing my personal feelings and to be able to express my emotions in a positive manner. And finally, it is the courage to willingly give as much love as I have been receiving all this while from the people who matter ♥
To acknowledge the many people who have enabled me to be where I am today with their kindness and support, their advice and virtue, their patience and love. I can only aspire to be like them and to pay it forward when the opportunity arises.
6. Relax & Rejuvenate
I need to be reminded of what it feels like to do absolutely nothing!
After an insane juggling orchestra that went on this year, it would be nice to only focus on one thing at a given moment instead of ten
thousand. The only thing that I would happily juggle is a good book in one hand and a warm cuppa in the other.
It’s time to wipe the dust of my journal and pen a few words, rekindle my long lost love for photography, and to pick up a paintbrush and continue where I left off with this relatively new hobby of mine.
8. Personal Growth
Yes, I have experienced and learned a staggering amount this year, but I know that there will always be a blunt edge that needs to be sharpened, a loose screw to tighten, new doors to open and achievements that are waiting to be unlocked.
There is always room for improvement, and levels of Pokemon Go that I need to master!
I kid guys, I kid.
For the longest time, I know for a fact that I calculate my risks very carefully, so much that I end up not taking them at all for the fear of experiencing the worst outcomes.
Here’s to plucking enough courage; for all the risks that are worth taking, for adversities that I would eventually face, and to walk through doors that I never imagined myself ever doing.
10. To Fully Live
This year brought about a realisation that as draining as all the multi-tasking gets, when some days are extremely difficult to survive through, it makes a difference if you consciously adopt a mindset to live them to their fullest, even in the midst of the most trying times.
Don’t live with a thought that this second isn’t as meaningful as the next, that today isn’t as important as tomorrow, or that this year should be just over and done with for you to continue on with the next.
Because if not now, then when?
